Spirulina the Super Food

Spirulina is a blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) which grows in fresh and salt water. It is said to be one of the most nutrient-dense foods on earth.

5-10 grams of spirulina per day has numerous health benefits:

  • Extremely rich in many nutrients: Proteins, Vitamin B1, B2, B3, Copper, Iron, some magnesium, potassium, and manganese. Moreover, it holds digestive carbs, omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, and it provides all the needed amino acids.
  • Fantastic source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory which protects against the oxidative damage and the chronic inflammations that contribute to cancer and other diseases.
  • Studies show that, it has a great effect on lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides and in turn raising the HDL (good cholesterol).
  • It lowers the blood pressure by increasing the production of nitric oxide which helps relax and dilate the blood vessels, consequently minimizing the risks of serious diseases (heart attacks, kidney failures, strokes…)
  • Has shown effectiveness against allergic rhinitis (inflammation in the nasal passageways, triggered by dust, pollen, animal hair…)
  • Spirulina can reduce anemia especially in older adults that feel prolonged weakness and fatigue.
  • It provides several exercise benefits, including enhanced endurance and increased muscle strength.
  • Spirulina also aids blood sugar control (type 2 diabetes).

Spirulina is worthy of the title “SUPERFOODS”
